English, as the most widely - spoken language in the world, has always been an important part of my learning journey.

I first came across English when I was in the third grade of primary school. Those unfamiliar words and phrases were like mysterious codes waiting to be cracked, bringing me a sense of excitement and curiosity. However, at the beginning, learning English was extremely difficult. English consists of numerous phonetic symbols and letters, which put high demands on both memory and spelling abilities. I often found it hard to spell the words correctly. I analyzed the reasons but couldn't find a solution at first. It was my teacher who told me to pronounce the words accurately so as to remember them. Although the initial attempts didn't yield obvious results, after more than half a month of hard work, I finally realized that memorizing words according to their pronunciations was a much more efficient way, as each sound represents the pronunciation of specific letters.

When I entered junior high school, new challenges emerged. There were a large number of grammar rules and phrases, just like snowflakes falling from the sky, piling up on us students. To deal with this, I started using a small notebook to categorize and record all the words and phrases I learned. As I encountered more words, phrases, sentence patterns, and grammar knowledge, I gradually became more confident in English. I was even able to write several English compositions without much hesitation, which was a great achievement for me. But I knew that the road to learning English was long, and I needed to stay humble and keep a calm mind.

In my opinion, to learn English well, we need to spend a lot of time on it every day. We should adopt good learning methods. For example, we should listen to the teacher carefully in class, regularly review what we have learned, prepare each lesson before class, do our homework carefully, copy good sentences and recite them, and participate in English debates and speech contests.
