But there are many, many wonderful things in the world that cannot be bough/; with money.For example, knowledge cannot be bought with money. One cannot be rich in knowledge unless he studies hard. 藺相如來了之后，惠文王第一句話就問他：「秦國要用十五個城來交換我的楚和氏璧，你看我應不應該答應他呢？」藺相如毫不遲疑的說：「秦國強，趙國弱，我認為您不答應也不行呀！」「可是，假如秦國拿了我的璧玉，卻不把城池給我，那我該怎么辦？」惠文王憂心地問。藺相如馬上接口說：「秦國要拿十五個城池來交換趙國的楚和氏璧，假如趙國不答應，那當然是趙國的錯；反過來，若秦國得到了璧玉，卻不把城池給趙國，那錯就在于秦國了。因此，照我的看法，還是派人將璧玉送到秦國去比較好。」
趙惠文王覺得藺相如說的很有道理：「依你看，派什么人去好呢？」藺相如自告奮勇的說：「假如大王實在找不出合適的人，臣倒愿意前往一試。
